Purposes & Constitution


To advance the education of the public about oral health through the promotion of dental awareness campaigns conducted by the IBDS network of dental care professionals in community and clinical settings.


To relief of sickness and preserve good oral health among the homeless, refugees, and asylum seekers through assisting in the provision of free dental facilities, support services and equipment not normally provided by the statutory authorities to a partner charity ‘Smile Again (Registration number 1148336) in London. A model which IBDS aspires to replicate throughout the UK to increase access to dental care.


To facilitate for the exchange of professional knowledge, expertise, and research in evidence-based dentistry to implement new protocols in service provision to patients. This is achieved through holding national scientific meetings for dental care professionals.


To advance the clinical, academic, management and personal skills of dental care professional in the UK through the provision of a platform for mentorship.
